PSTN Switch Off
The clock is ticking for Virgin Media and BT PSTN and ISDN users. With these technologies being turned off in the UK 2025 for BT whilst Virgin Media is already terminating services for ISDN and PSTN customers, it's essential that you migrate to alternative technologies to avoid service disruptions. Migrate away from PSTN / ISDN services to digital technologies. This is however dependant on whether the systems connected can support this transition. Fax machines for example will continue to work however analog modems connected to RTU's (outstations), PLC's, SCADA, etc will no longer function and an alternative solution is required.

Upgrade all of the RTU, PLC, SCADA to work with the digital technologies. This is very likely to be expensive to replace all of the field units and assumes that the field units can in fact be replaced and will require changes on all of the equipment involved.

Introduce drop in replacements for the analog modems, no reconfiguration of the RTU, PLC or SCADA is required. The drop in replacement will then convert the PSTN / ISDN communication to modern digital transmission and completely remove the PSTN / ISDN components. Best of all there is no requirement to change phone numbers on equipment!
